Policies

Time is a very limited commodity, once lost it cannot be regained.  My massage therapy practice is time-dependent business run by completed appointments.

I have a 24-hour cancellation policy for all sessions.  If you find it necessary to cancel or change your appointment, please allow at least 24-hours prior notice.  Any changes, cancellations or missed appointments less than 24-hours in advance, will obligate you to pay for the originally scheduled appointment.  If you are booking your appointment within 24-hours of the actual appointment, there is no cancellation and you will be charged the full amount of the appointment.  Likewise, if I cancel or reschedule with less than 24-hour’s notice, you will receive your next session at no charge.  If there is a state of emergency and/or business shutdown declared for our area, none of this applies.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, you may do so through my online scheduling system, text, email, or give me a call to avoid being charged for the missed appointment.  Any missed/no show appointments will result in being charged the full amount of the appointment and/or forfeit of gift certificates, vouchers or pre-paid package sessions, if you have one.  If you cancel via text, email or voicemail, the 24-hour notice will be dependent on the time stamp of the method you choose.

With the most recent COVID-19 virus that plagued our country and lives, I will be taking more precautions than ever and err on the side of caution.

Especially because all sessions take place in my small space and you may be contagious before symptoms show, you MUST reschedule your appointment:

  • If you have been in contact with anyone in the last 14 days who has been diagnosed the COVID-19 or has coronavirus-type symptoms
  • If you are, feel, or have been in contact with someone who has been sick with a contagious illness, including but not limited to a cold/flu, pink eye (conjunctivitis), hand/foot/mouth, measles, Norovirus, etc within three (3) days prior to your appointment.
  • If you have a fever of at least 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit within three (3) days prior to your appointment.  Even if you are managing your fever with medication of any kind, you are still sick and that day counts as a fever day.
  • If you have tested positive for COVID-19 and have quarantined, until you test negative.

Please note that I am reserving the right to protect myself, my family, other clients, and salon staff:

  • please arrive for your appointment wearing a face mask/covering
  • face mask/covering must cover your nose and mouth at all times
  • face masks/coverings will be utilized during sessions by both you and I, we will evaluate and monitor breathing comfort throughout the session.

Please be honest.

I know you want to receive your massage and/or not have me lose income.  However, I would rather you cancel your appointment as any contagions will still be able to be passed along exponentially spreading the illness.

With that said, because massage therapy work involves maintained touch and close physical proximity over an extended period of time, you and I understand that there may be an elevated risk of disease transmission, including but not limited to COVID-19.  By making appointments, you acknowledge that you are aware of the risks involved and give consent to receive massage and bodywork from me.  All clients receiving massage sessions MUST have a signed “COVID-19 Informed Consent” form on file prior to any appointments.  You can find this form on my website under “Client Forms”.

As some of you have experienced in the past, I did not charge for cancelling due to illness.  I understand that sometimes the body doesn’t give a 24-hour notice that you’re sick.  However, if you use this reason to cancel at the last minute too many times, I will not be so understanding the next time, even the possibility of requiring that you prepay for your next session.  (And, yes, I’ve had the same person use the “I’m in the ER” excuse with me, twice…).

You will need to contact me and I will do the same, if either of us start showing any apparent COVID-19 symptoms.  I will discreetly inform salon staff and other clients that they may have/have been exposed in a space where someone has shown COVID-19 symptoms.

While there is no cure, vaccine, antibody test or other intervention for COVID-19, we all have our role to play to prevent the spread of diseases.

Should a substitute be found (or you may send a friend in your place) for your appointment, no charge will be made for the missed appointment.

The same policies apply:

  • if you are booking an appointment for someone, other than yourself, under your name/account.
  • if there is an agreement with an insurance, disability and/or workers compensation company.  They are not responsible for your missed appointment and/or late arrival, you are.

The online system will generate emails and/or texts automatically for appointment confirmations, cancellations, reschedules and/or reminders as a courtesy.  Please note that these are automatically generated and the system will attempt to have the notification sent out.  As the notifications are system generated, they may be sent, out of my control, to your junk/bulk/spam folders even if I am added in your contact list.

It is your responsibility to ensure my online system has your correct and updated email addresses and/or text numbers, and you check your emails and/or texts.

If you call/email/text me to reschedule and/or cancel your appointment, please ensure that you receive confirmation from me as notifications may be sent, out of my control, to junk/bulk/spam folders.  Please check those folders.

I do not offer split appointments.  Each client must book their own separate appointments.

Your session is reserved especially for you.  If you are late, your session will still end at the appointed time to avoid delay for the person scheduled after you.  If lateness is inevitable, please call as soon as possible.  If you are more than 20 mins late and do not call, I will consider you a no-show and you will be charged the full amount of the appointment and/or forfeit of gift certificates, vouchers or pre-paid package sessions, if you have one.

This is your session ... I will be happy to adjust pressure, temperature, music volume, etc. to meet your level of comfort.

This is a non-sexual massage and is for legitimate therapeutic purposes only.  Therefore, any sexually implicit behavior will result in the immediate termination of the session for which you will be charged the full amount of the appointment.

***** Due to COVID-19, I will not be seeing any minor clients until further notice. ***** All clients under the age of 18 are required to have a parent/guardian present in the room for the duration of the session.

These policies were adopted to ensure our time and efforts will be respected and that all appointments be a stress-free and relaxing experience.  Thank you for your understanding.
